Army Traffic Safety Training

The Army Traffic Safety Training Program is required training for all Army personnel. The training is established to reinforce a positive attitude toward driving, individual responsibility, and correct response to routine and emergency driving situations. Each progressive traffic safety–training course builds on the previous module to reinforce the Army’s expectations for a safe Army driver.

General Information

  • The Army Traffic Safety Training Program is required training for all Army personnel. The training is established to reinforce a positive attitude toward driving, individual responsibility, and correct response to routine and emergency driving situations. Each progressive traffic safety–training course builds on the previous module to reinforce the Army’s expectations for a safe Army driver.

  • All courses are part of The U.S. Army Traffic Safety Training Program (ATSTP) and are mandated by Army Regulation 385-10 and USFK Regulation 190-1.

  • Courses are provided by Cape Fox Professional Services, LLC under contract by the Installation Management Command (IMCOM), U.S. Army.

  • All courses are provided "FREE" of charge for US Army Soldiers and selective service members only.
  • Remedial Driver's course is for MILITARY AND DOD Civilian personnel who, while operating a government motor vehicle, have been convicted of a moving traffic violation or have been found at fault in an accident on or off the installation.

 

  • Intermediate Driver's course is for all newly assigned Soldiers less than 26 years of age. They will receive intermediate traffic safety training that reinforces the initial traffic safety training course. Other personnel may be required to attend training as deemed necessary by local command. 
  • Motorcycle courses are available at USAG - Yongsan, USAG - Humphreys, USAG - Carroll and USAG - Casey. During the registration process, please select a training location nearest your assigned duty station.

  • Training motorcycles are only provided to Basic Rider Course students.

  • Courses are taught in English.

  • Training is conducted rain or shine and can be cancelled at anytime due to weather and safety considerations.

The ATSTP (BRC, ERC, MSRC) courses are for USFK Soldiers only, with one exception. Service members of other branches, assigned by orders to an Army unit, are authorized attendance. 

Standby Status:

An opening may become available due to a "No-show" of a currently registered student. Individuals placed on standby are encouraged to show up on training day to see if there are any available seats.
