The issues summarized in the report cover a wide range of subject matter obtained from Canadian press reports, government press releases, and host country agricultural officials and representatives. As part of the Beyond the Border Action Plan, USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is working jointly with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to implement a pre-clearance initiative.

19 April 2012: USDA Partners with Canada to Increase Use of Agroforestry Practices by Landowners
Earlier this week, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a cooperative partnership between the USDA and Canada's Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food that will promote agroforestry to help landowners improve water quality, control soil erosion and boost their agriculture production.
