First Sergeant Daryl R. Hayes is the senior enlisted advisor for 12th Battalion, United States Military Entrance Processing Command and the Baltimore Military Entrance Processing Station.

First Sergeant Hayes enlisted in the United States Army in March 1992 and completed basic training at Fort Knox, Ky. His first assignment was as a personnel management specialist and promotion clerk for Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, Air Defense Artillery Center, Fort Bliss, Texas. He transferred to Schweinfurt, Germany, in November 1994 and assumed duties as a personnel management specialist and reassignment clerk with Bravo Company, 38th Personnel Services Battalion. Upon his return to the United States in January 1998, First Sergeant Hayes was assigned as a personnel services sergeant for the Special Processing Company and Personnel Control Facility at Fort Knox. He transferred to Fort Campbell, Ky., in September 2000 and served as a personnel services sergeant for the Fort Campbell Replacement Company and later as senior personnel sergeant for Headquarters, 101st Soldier Support Battalion. In February 2005 he became a drill sergeant with Charlie Company, 369th Adjutant General Battalion and then as a small group leader for the Senior Leader Course at the Noncommissioned Officer Academy Soldier Support Institute and subsequently as a senior small group leader. He was assigned to Doha, Qatar, in May 2009 and assumed duties as the Area Support Group Qatar senior human resources sergeant with U.S. Army Central Forces Command-Qatar. Upon his return to the United States in May 2010, First Sergeant Hayes joined the staff of Headquarters and Headquarters Company 20th Engineer Brigade as brigade senior human resources sergeant and served as the first sergeant of the brigade's rear detachment. He returned to his duties as senior human resources sergeant in January 2012 and served in that capacity until assuming his current duties in June 2012.

His professional military education includes the Army Logistics Management Small Group Leader Course, Instructor Training Course, Senior Leader Course, Combatives Level 1 Course, Drill Sergeant School, Advanced Leader Course, Warrior Leader Course and Air Assault School

His military awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, nine Army Achievement Medals, six Army Good Conduct Medals, and various unit and service medals and ribbons.
