Electrical Engineering Curriculum by Year
If you are interested in technology and an understanding of how things work, then Electrical Engineering might be the perfect major for you.

The Electrical Engineering (EE) major offers two specializations: a Computer Track and a Systems Track. The core curriculum within the EE major consists of 10 courses which all EE majors take. In addition, each cadet in the major chooses a track, or area of emphasis within Electrical Engineering, which consists of 4 additional courses. Finally, each EE major has their choice of two Major Area Electives (or Engineering Electives) and one Free Elective.

For more information about the curriculum, courses, requirements for acceptance into the major and graduation requirements, please see the catalog of courses available on the USCGA Registrar's web page.

COMPUTER TRACK
The Computer track allows cadets to explore software design and computer networks. Students in this track would be able to obtain a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.

Major Area Electives

Major area Elective courses for the EE major are defined as Engineering courses, 200 level or higher, other than Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering (1320), Electric Circuits and Machines (1321), and Mechanical Control of Dynamic Systems (1460). In special cases (and with prior approval), Directed Studies in Electrical Engineering (1439) may be considered a major area elective. Below is a list of common major area electives for each track.

Major Area Electives
COMPUTER TRACK  SYSTEMS TRACK
Mechanics of Materials
