Cheatham Dam Right Bank Recreation Area

Located approximately 11 miles northwest of Ashland City, Tennessee, the Right Bank Day Use Area features 4 picnic shelters that may be reserved (Cottonwood, Beachside, Willey’s, and Red Bud). The area also provides numerous individual picnic tables with grills, a designated swimming area with sand beach (no life guard, swim at your own risk), 2 boat launching ramps, 2 playgrounds, 2 volleyball courts, a softball field, and public restrooms.  To get to the area, turn on Cheatham Dam Road off State Route 12 in the Cheap Hill Community.  A $4 per car day use fee is collected mid-May through Labor Day.
 

Brush Creek Recreation Area

Located about 3.5 miles south of Ashland City on River Road, this day use area features a picnic shelter available for reservations, a playground, restrooms, picnic tables with grills, an accessible fishing trail with pier, and a launching ramp with courtesy float.

Located just over 2 miles west of Ashland City on State Route 49, Bluff Creek offers several picnic sites with grills and a launching ramp with courtesy float.
 

Johnson Creek Recreation Area

Located on Old Lock A Road, off State Route 49 in Dickson County, this day use area features shady picnic sites, a chemical toilet, and a launching ramp with courtesy float.  Johnson Creek Recreation Area is about 18 miles from Ashland City and 15 miles from Charlotte, Tennessee.
 

Sycamore Creek Recreation Area

Located approximately 4 miles northwest of Ashland City on Chapmansboro Road, this day use area features a picnic shelter that may be reserved, a playground, restrooms, individual picnic tables with grills, and a boat launching ramp with courtesy float.
 

Cheatham Dam Left Bank Recreation Area

This day use area provides a picnic shelter that may be reserved, a playground, a tailwater fishing platform, and restrooms.  This area is in Dickson County, approximately 30 miles from Ashland City and 15 miles from Charlotte.  To reach it, follow State Route 49 to Jackson’s Chapel, turn on to Bowker Road, and follow the signs to the park.
 

Secondary Lake Access Areas

Boat launching ramps with parking lots are also available at Cleece’s Ferry Right and Left Banks.
