Fort Donelson
Site where Southern gunners and Union tars exchanged “Iron Valentines” during their duel on February 14, 1862. Fort Donelson is one mile west of Dover, Tennessee and three miles east of Land Between The Lakes on U.S.79. The visitor center, which provides an audio-visual program, is open year round.
