    Land Between The Lakes

    Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, managed by the USDA Forest Service, is more than your ordinary forest.   With more than 170,000 acres and 300 miles of undeveloped shoreline, it offers all the opportunities for environmental education, camping, and historic interpretation.

    Fort Donelson

    Site where Southern gunners and Union tars exchanged “Iron Valentines” during their duel on February 14, 1862.  Fort Donelson is one mile west of Dover, Tennessee and three miles east of Land Between The Lakes on U.S.79.  The visitor center, which provides an audio-visual program, is open year round.
