    •  Members of the 113th Congress convened for the first time today, including openly gay Colorado Representative Jared Polis. He joins five other LGBT congressmen, as well as the first openly gay US Senator, to represent the highest number of openly LGBT members in congressional history. Representative Polis is also the first gay parent in Congress, and posed for NOH8 during our first "NOH8 On The Hill" photo session held in February 2012. "Equality before the law is an American value articulated in our Constitution and it’s at the heart of the NOH8 Campaign. With a focus on our nation’s value of freedom and an unflagging insistence on equality for all, we can look forward to a time when equal rights for all is a given.” - Congressman Jared Polis "LIKE" to support LGBT lawmakers!

Dear Senator, and or Congressman / Congress Woman, We the people and I myself ask that you do not support the Senator Feinstein new Gun Bill. Perhaps if the old ones were tightened up that would more than suffice.... but enacting and adding laws has not proven to be working. I am not for "assault weapons" but the semi automatic hunting riffles and hand guns used for protection . even many senators and Congressman / woman carry.... should not be banned. A barrel cover . and pistol grip does not make the gun more dangerous. How about enforcing or having enforced to those that are on psychiatric medications not be allowed weapons or guns unless a Doctor signs off for their stability?? This issue goes deeper than a Second Amendment right. You guys live in your ivory towers and glass houses and were elected and suppose to help protect the Constitution and the American People. Instead of allowing monies to be given freely all over the world. how about spending monies in our schools... with support, guards, and metal detectors. I personally know of schools in Lorain Ohio that do this and their crime rate went from outrageous to Zero! that's is as this Feinstein Bill is being introduced. it should be shelved or voted down in its entirety. Sign by an American Michael Conley. thanks!

  3. "We are angry and heartbroken at the news of another horrifying and senseless school shooting. Our deepest and heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with the children, families, teachers, school officials, law enforcement, first responders and... the entire community of Newtown who are impacted by this tragedy. Please know all of us in Colorado are here to support and provide comfort and strength to Connecticut in the days, weeks and months ahead."See More
  4. The University of Colorado is not in jeopardy of losing a single dime of federal funding due to Amendment 64. President Benson has allowed his personal opposition to Amendment 64 to compromise his responsibility to the university by spreading an alarmist claim that has no basis in fact.
  5. Equality before the law is the foundation of any just society and the fundamental issue at hand in the Perry and Windsor cases. The Court can put to rest the notion that second-class citizenry is acceptable in America by striking down DOMA and ensuring that discrimination is removed from California’s state constitution. That is the only just result of these two cases.
  6. I thank President Obama and Secretary Napolitano for this step towards addressing the sexual assault crisis in our detention facilities, particularly the inclusion of an external audit requirement in the draft rule. I look forward to closely reviewing the new rule and will closely monitor its implementation and enforcement so that people in U.S. custody are protected against such heinous acts.
  7. Colorado leads the nation in education reform efforts that foster innovative solutions aimed ensuring that every child can achieve, graduate, and go on to success in life. I am thrilled that our hard work has paid off with this $30 million ...investment in closing achievement gaps and improving student outcomes. This is just another step toward making Colorado’s schools second-to-none so that all children have the opportunity to go as far their talents will take them.See More
