Cooperative Programs
We promote the understanding and use of the cooperative form of business. Cooperatives market and distribute agricultural products and supplies.
Cooperatives also provide other rural services and needs, such as: electricity, telecommunications, credit and financial services, housing, food, hardware and building supplies.
We help rural residents form new cooperatives and improve the operations of existing ones. Here is a description of the services and materials we provide:

Data on U.S. Farmer, Rancher, and Fishery Cooperatives. We collect financial and other data from farmer, rancher, and fishery cooperatives every year. This data is published in several reports, including a listing of almost 1,500 marketing, supply, service, fishery, and bargaining cooperatives. Read more…

Funding For Cooperatives. In conjunction with other Rural Development program areas, we provide financial assistance opportunities that are available to assist rural businesses, including cooperatives, and agricultural producers. Read more…
