Q: Why is Fort Bragg’s main identification card facility going to the appointment system?
A: We have noticed that our customers have been waiting on average 37 minutes to get their ID cards. Some customers have waited more than three hours to receive an ID Card. This system will reduce their wait times and improve the customer’s experience.
Q: Will a customer be turned away from getting their identification card processed if they don’t have an appointment?
A: We will service emergency customers on a case by case basis. Emergency customers are cautioned that customers with appointments always have priority, potentially extending wait times. All non emergency customers will be required to make an appointment.
Q: Will the appointment system allow you to process more identification cards?
A: Yes, the appointment system will allow us to streamline our work schedule, therefore helping us to reduce the customer wait times. For example, without the appointment system we process an average of 286 customers a day. With the appointment system, we expect to process 336 customers a day.
Q: Who will be affected by this appointment system?
A: All of our customers will be affected by this system including military service members, family members, our civilian work force, contractors and retirees.
Q: How can customers make an appointment?
A: We have made our appointment system as easy as possible for our customers. Customers can make an appointment by calling (910) 910-643-2737 from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday –Friday, going to our website, http://www.bragg.army.mil/directorates/HR/Pages or using one of the kiosks in the lobby of the Soldier Support Center.
Q. How far in advance should I schedule an appointment to renew my ID Card?
A. An appointment can be made within 30 days from the expiration of your card. Recommend making an appointment as soon as possible within the 30 day window to ensure appointments are available to meet your needs.
