Continuing Education Credit![]() For Physicians / up to 13 CME CreditsNCQA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. NCQA designates these two days of continuing education activity for a maximum of 13 hours in Category I credit toward the Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours that he or she actually spent in the educational activity. This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 12.5 Prescribed credit hours by the American Academy of Family Physicians. CME is also being requested from appropriate medical specialty organizations. For Nurses / 15.6 Contact HoursThis program for 15.6 contact hours is provided by NCQA, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Attendees The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) has approved "Advances in Cholesterol Management: Putting the New National Cholesterol Education Program Guidelines into Practice" for continuing education credits in health education. Certified health education specialists (CHES) onsite attendees may receive up to 13 contact hours in category 1. The National Commission on Health Education Credentialing, Inc. has designated the NHLBI as a multiple event provider of continuing education. Participants may obtain credits by downloading and completing the Evaluation Form and submitting it along with proof of attendance to the address on the Evaluation Form.
