ACS will assist commanders in maintaining readiness of individuals, families, and communities within America's Army by developing, coordinating, and delivering services which promote self-reliance, resiliency, and stability during war and peace.

Army Community Service

Army Community Service plays a great role in providing care, comfort, and support for Soldiers and Family members. As the needs of the Army changes, so do the needs of the Soldiers and the Army Family.  ACS is there adapting to those changes as a place where Families members and Soldiers can get their best start on “Real-Life Solutions for Successful Army Living”.

Army Community Service offers a variety services in the following areas:

 

SOFA / VISA

 

ACS only provides application forms and directions to the Yangju Immigration Office for individuals needing to apply for SOFA Stamps or VISAs for their passports. There are several options on how to get to Yangju Immigration Office including driving (20 minutes from Camp Casey and Stanley and 15 minutes from Camp Red Cloud), local buses, taxi's, and (taking the subway (then local Taxi). Once at the Yangju Immigration Office, typical processing time is usually less than but, no more than one hour.  For more information please contact ACS 730-3107

 

RELOCATION READINESS PROGRAM

 

Provided to Soldiers and Families to help reduce or eliminate problems arising due to frequent moves. Programs include: individual or group counseling, sponsorship information, Smooth Move and Newcomer’s orientations (third Monday & Thursday of the month), lending closet, Military Homefront web page, Citizenship and Immigration Services, multi-cultural programs, and “Hearts Apart” activities for waiting Families. Also provides assistance with passports and birth abroad information, visa and SOFA stamps. 

 

Military Home Front (under additional links) has everything you need to know about USAG Red Cloud/Casey as well as your next duty assignment. Bring up the website, click on MILITARY INSTALLATION (along the left side), select your installation and search all the topics of interest. Link from the installation information to the installation’s actual homepage as well. To create a calendar to help you with your move, click on Plan My Move (along the left side as well), you’ll find tips and topics you need to know about for every day up to moving day.

 

LENDING CLOSET

 

Army Community Service has a Lending Closet which provides basic items such as irons, ironing boards, pots and pans, dishes, coffee makers, etc. on a 30 day loan basis to incoming and outgoing military ID cardholders. Call Army Community Service at USAG Casey building S-2451 to make appointment. Bring copy ID, travel orders and check out these items for temporary loan usage during the operation hours of 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Firday. (Closed on Federal Holidays) 


INFORMATION AND REFERRAL

 

Strives to provide Soldiers and Families with timely, comprehensive information on both military and community resources that will assist in meeting basic needs and improve quality of life.


FINANCIAL READINESS PROGRAM

 

Provides comprehensive educational and counseling
programs in personal financial readiness. The program covers indebtedness, consumer advocacy and protection, money management, credit, financial planning, insurance and consumer issues. Other services offered are mandatory financial readiness training for first-termers, and financial counseling for deployed Soldiers and their Families. Soldiers receive promotion points for some classes.


ARMY EMERGENCY RELIEF (AER)

 

Provides assistance for unexpected financial stress to include: travel; housing; car repair; utilities; medical expenses; funeral costs and disaster relief.

 


EMPLOYMENT READINESS PROGRAM (ERP)

 

Provides employment assistance to active duty, reserve component, transitioning and retired Soldiers, Family members and DoD civilian employees in acquiring skills, networking and resources that will allow them to participate in the workforce and develop a career/work plan.


FAMILY ADVOCACY PROGRAM

 

The Army FAP is committed to preventing domestic violence and child abuse and neglect by providing a variety of services to strengthen Army Families and enhance resiliency. The FAP includes prevention, identification, reporting, investigation, and treatment in support of Soldiers and Families.



NEW PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAM

 

Social workers or nurses provide comprehensive support and education to military families experiencing a pregnancy, or having children up to age three. This program may offer individual support through classes, or home and office visits. The NPSP is a great way for family members to learn coping strategies for stress, or how to manage life challenges through deployments, reunions, communication barriers or just the everyday demands of parenthood.


EXCEPTIONAL FAMILY MEMBER PROGRAM (EFMP)

 

A mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, personnel and respite care services to Families with special needs.


VICTIM ADVOCACY

 

Provides 24/7 services for victims of domestic violence. Victims have access to emergency assistance, information, referrals and ongoing support in accessing medical, behavioral health, legal and law enforcement services on and off garrisons. Available for both restricted and unrestricted reports.


MOBILIZATION AND DEPLOYMENT READINESS PROGRAM

 

Includes program and support activities designed to assist leaders at all levels and Soldiers and their Families to successfully manage the challenges of mobilization and deployments before, during and after they occur. This program is referred to as the MOB/DEP program. ARMY FAMILY ACTION PLAN (AFAP)

 

A grassroots, Army-wide initiative to identify and prioritize issues to enhance standards of living for Soldiers and their Families.


ARMY FAMILY TEAM BUILDING (AFTB)

 

A Family training and readiness program that provides participants with an understanding of Army culture and the skills and resources they need to become self-reliant, self-sufficient members of the military community.


ARMY VOLUNTEER CORPS

 

Unites all volunteers and organizations using volunteers and strengthens volunteerism by enhancing the career mobility of volunteers, establishing partnerships, and promoting a life-long commitment to service. This, in turn, assists in maintaining readiness, sustaining communities and enriching lives throughout the Army.

 

MILITARY FAMILY LIFE CONSULTANTS (MFLC)

 

A key Outreach Service to Soldiers and Families. Enhances community Family support services by offering licensed clinical social workers and psychologists to address various issues that Soldiers and Families face before and after deployment.

 

Survivor Outreach Services (SOS)

 

Caring for our survivors is one of the most honorable things! Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) is an Army-wide program that provides dedicated and comprehensive support services to survivors of deceased Soldiers. Area I ACS assists its covenant with survivors a quality of life commensurate with their level of service and sacrifice to the Nation. Area I ACS supports the survivors receive their needs, and we encourages survivors to remain an integral part of the Army family for as long as they desire.

 

Eligibility - All branches of the Armed Forces, DoD Civilians, Retirees and their family members.
