ASAP Suicide Prevention

Suicide Prevention

The Army is committed to a holistic approach to improve the physical, spiritual, and emotional health of our Soldiers, their families, and Department of Army Civilians. USAG Red Cloud has a responsibility to our Soldiers, Family members, and Civilians to create an environment free from the stigma associated with seeking help and to call attention to the devastating effects of suicide on individuals, families, units, and communities.

Vision:

Reduce risk of suicide gestures/attempts and completed suicides at USAG-RC through a combination of increased awareness education, training, support services, protective factors, open communication, and concern between Leaders and Soldiers, their Families and DA Civilians.

Mission Statement:

Dispel, through education, the myths and stigma surrounding Behavioral Health. Encourage Soldiers to seek help for treatable behavioral health problems such as depression and alcohol and drug abuse. Develop a trained Force at all levels that are comfortable with suicide intervention. Attend to those Units, Families and individuals left behind by suicide. Develop a holistic approach to suicide prevention which encompasses the physical, emotion, social, family, and spiritual dimensions of health. Provide all Soldiers with information and resources to assist them in making healthy life choices.
