CNA students at Job Corps

Academics

In addition to career training, David L. Carrasco Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at David L. Carrasco Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at David L. Carrasco are automatically enrolled into our GED/high school program. Students who complete this program's core classes may participate in our online high school diploma and accelerated high school diploma programs.

ELL Program

Students needing to learn English can enter our English Language Learning (ELL) program. Students in the ELL program are tested regularly to determine their language proficiency levels.

Driver's Education and Readiness

Driver's Education is available to any student under the age of 18 wishing to get a driver's license. Students 18 years or older can earn their licenses through our Driver's Readiness program.

Advanced Career Training

The Advanced Career Training (ACT) program is available to students who demonstrate the skills, motivation, and enthusiasm to compete at the college level. ACT provided by our center is offered at El Paso Community College.
