Road Condition Information

These levels pertain only to on-post conditions for military vehicle movement.

These levels pertain only to on-post conditions for military vehicle movement. This is provided primarily for government vehicle use.  For private use, use your best judgment for driving safety. 

 

Green: Road conditions are normal.

 

Amber: Military vehicles, other than those required for essential business, will not be driven on roads on or around the installation. O-3 or above, Warrant officer in the rank of CW3 or above, or civilian supervisor in the grade of GS-10 or KGS-10 or above may authorize usage for business. POV owners need to use extreme caution and are encouraged to observe the rules established for military vehicles.

 

Red: Military vehicles, other then emergency/essential business, will not be driven. O-5 or above, or civilian supervisors in the grade of GS-13 or KGS-13 above may authorize usage for business that can not be postponed without jeopardizing military requirements. Snow chains or similar devices will be used.

 

Black: All U.S. Government vehicles are prohibited from movement. Commanders of O-6 and above must personally authorize the use of emergency vehicles after the appropriate risk assessment and mitigation actions are considered. Snow chains or similar devices are required, no waivers are authorized.

 

The Road Conditions found on the USAG-RED CLOUD & AREA I Post Status page may not reflect on what is posted on USFK.mil Road Conditions page.  The statuses provided are provided directly by the USAG RC & Area I Safety and Security Officers. 

The  USAG RC & Area I Post Status is updated immediately when the staff duty operations desk gets notified of the changes. If you have any questions regarding the current status, contact the USAG RC & Area I Hotline for more information.

The conditions posted here are primarily for government/official vehicle use, it is probably best that you use the same precautions when driving on or off post in your personal vehicle. 

These statuses does not justify delays for your work attendance.  We recommend that you contact your employer or supervisor to determine the proper safety precautions when driving in elevated conditions.
