Industry Day Events
In support of small businesses, the White House has requested that all Federal agencies focus outreach efforts in small business socioeconomic categories where agency goal performance is low. To meet this request, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), as part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012-2013 NASA Small Business Improvement Plan, instituted an initiative focused on increasing outreach in the following low performing socioeconomic areas: Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned, and Historically Underutilized Business Zones.
Each hosting Center and the other NASA centers are required to assist in the execution of these Industry Day events. Industry Day support includes attendance and active participation from the hosting Center’s SBSs, Technical Advisor(s), Technical Coordinator(s), and Office of the Chief Technologist representative. All companies are welcomed to attend. However, the Agency’s focus is to achieve a goal of a minimum of fifty-percent of industry attendees from the targeted socioeconomic category. In order to provide the maximum networking experience for small business owners, each center will invite its top large businesses currently doing business at the respective center.
The NASA Office of Small Business Programs, the NASA Small Business Specialists (SBS) council along with their respective Centers will host industry events for the aforementioned targeted socioeconomic categories each fiscal year until the agency meets its goals.
For additional information regarding NASA industry day events, please contact Mr. David Grove at (202) 358-2088.
Thank you for your continued support of the NASA small business program.
