Airmen of Note on Tour! This month the Airmen of Note will board the bus and head south for their spring tour. The first few days will be spent in southern Virginia, followed by stops while crossing through the entire state of Tennessee and finally winding up with some dates in Arkansas. The tour will also include one date in northern Mississippi. The Airmen of Note's music director, Senior Master Sgt. Joe Jackson, is preparing a program that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the group. Audience members attending the concerts on this tour will also receive a complimentary 60th anniversary CD, containing recordings from the early 1950s through today. Read more... |
AF Band Members at Super Bowl XLV
For the second consecutive year, members of The United States Air Force Band's Ceremonial Brass took part in the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. At this year's game on Feb. 6, percussionists Master Sgt. Chris Martin and Tech. Sgt. Nathan Lavy took the field with an Armed Forces Color Guard contingency from Washington, D.C. The United States Air Force Honor Guard--stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling with The USAF Band--was also part of the joint service formation.

Chamber Players Series Continues into March
The Chamber Players Series offers audiences in the National Capital Region the opportunity to see performances by vocalists and instrumentalists from the various units of The U.S. Air Force Band. There will be three programs in March, featuring members of the Singing Sergeants, Ceremonial Brass and the Concert Band. All non-ticketed performances in the series are free and open to the public.
