The Navy has prepared an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 as implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality regulations and Navy and Marine Corps guidelines. The EIS discloses potential environmental impacts for the proposed basing and operations of Marine Medium Tiltrotor (VMM) and Marine Light Attack Helicopter (HMLA) squadrons in Hawai'i. A process flow diagram of the NEPA process, including the EIS process for this proposed action, is shown below.
