Soil Health

Managing for soil health is one of the easiest and most effective ways for farmers to increase crop productivity and profitability while improving the environment. Read our
healthy, productive soil health checklist for growers (PDF; 935 KB) and learn what might be a part of your soil health management system.

Soil Loss Calculations

Use the Idaho Soil Loss Computation Spreadsheet to assist with calculating concentrated flow and ephemeral gully erosion, classical gully erosion, streambank erosion and mass movement.  There is also an alternative method to calculate gross soil loss from cropland fields where significant rill erosion occurs.
