Captain Theresa A. Lewis is the Commander of Western Sector, United States Military Entrance Processing Command located in North Chicago, Ill.

Captain Lewis earned her commission from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., in May 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Her assignment's include: The Bureau of Naval Personnel in Washington, D.C., as the New Accessions Detailer for the General Unrestricted Line Community where she received her subspecialty in Manpower Systems Analysis and Management; assignment to the White House as the Director of White House Television and as a Unit Commander for the Director, White House Military Office, serving under former Presidents Bush and Clinton and was responsible for documenting the President's activities on videotape for the Presidential Archives; Administrative Officer for the United States Navy Support Facility, Diego Garcia; Executive Officer at the Military Sealift Command Office, Port Canaveral, Fla.; Fleet Aviation Manpower Officer, Manpower Analyst, and Assistant Fleet Personnel Distribution Officer and Joint Exercise and Operations Manning Coordinator, Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She also served as the Deputy Division Chief, Joint Staff Support Services Office, Director of Management and Joint Staff Deputy Inspector General at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., from April 2006 to June 2009. Prior to her current assignment she served as the Executive Officer, Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill., "the Navy's Boot Camp," responsible for training over 38,000 recruits annually.

Captain Lewis' command tours also include Commanding Officer, Military Sealift Command Office, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii from July 2001 to July 2003 and Commanding Officer, Honolulu Military Entrance Processing Station from July 2003 to January 2006.

Captain Lewis' professional military education includes the Command Leadership Schools, the Navy War College Seminar Program, and the Joint Combined Warfare School at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va. She has also earned a Master of Science Degree in Management with subspecialty in transportation from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., in March 1995. In June 2006, she graduated with distinction from the Navy War College with a Master's Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. Captain Lewis also holds a certification as a Department of Defense Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt.

Captain Lewis' military awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and several unit and service awards.
