SGM Ramsey entered active federal service in April 1985 by enlisting as a Signals Intelligence Morse Interceptor. In 1998, SGM Ramsey graduated the Russian basic course at DLI with honors, and re-classified as a Voice Interceptor.
His significant assignments include 1SG of B Co 344th Military Intelligence Battalion, Goodfellow AFB, TX, 1SG of Quickstrike Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, and SOT-A Team Sergeant for 7th Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, NC, and SOT-A Team Sergeant and Senior SIGINT Advisor for 10th Special Forces Group, Fort Carson, CO. He has deployed in support of operations to Latin America, Bosnia, Southwest Asia, and Central Asia.
SGM Ramsey’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), the Ranger Tab, Military Free Fall Parachutist Badge, Basic Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Basic Aircrew Badge.
SGM Ramsey holds a Master’s Degree of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence College, a Bachelor’s of Science in Slavic Languages from Excelsior College, and an Undergraduate Certificate in Homeland Security from Excelsior College. He has completed all levels of the Army Non Commissioned Officer Education System and is a graduate of Class 61 of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.
