4th Brigade - Family Readiness
family

Welcome to our Vanguard Family Readiness Group!

I hope this will be a beginning of a connection with new or seasoned Family Members, friends, retirees, or significant others. You should always know you are not alone. We encourage you to get involved in the Family Readiness Group (FRG). The 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team embraces your positive ideas and your military life experiences, which bring diversity to our FRG Program.

According to the Army FRG Leader's Handbook, the Family Readiness Groups were first formally organized among Army Families who saw the benefit of solidarity and joined together in times of war, while at overseas duty assignments or other isolated duty stations. The basic idea was to provide information, moral support and social networking opportunities.

They offer classes to enhance your resilience, volunteer training, and volunteer recognition. As we open the lines of communication between the unit and its Families throughout its mission. The FRGs will organize unit send-offs and welcome home festivities. The FRG will have many opportunities to showcase its strong bond and support where it is needed.

While the FRG Program is designed to ensure Family Readiness (and likewise mission readiness), well- run FRGs end up being so much more, as the people you meet often become your extended Family, where friendships formed are lasting and true. Yes, there will be ample time for esprit de corps during organization day and networking through some social events. The success of an FRG depends on the level of commitment provided to it by the command, the Family Members and Civilian volunteers who are members. With your support we can make a difference in someone else's life as we enhance our personal growth.
