Aministrative Processing

The officer said final approval of visa required “administrative processing.” I have been waiting a long time and still do not have an answer from the Embassy. Why is it taking so long and when will I receive my visa?

The time required for administrative processing varies significantly depending upon circumstances specific to each case, so it is difficult to predict when we can take final action.  We will notify you immediately, however, as soon as the process is completed.

For this reason, we advise travelers needing visas to apply as soon as possible, preferably 2-3 months in advance, and that they not make non-refundable financial commitments until they are notified that a visa will be issued.
