Message From the Director
Mr. Gregory A. Williams is the new Fort Lee Director of Public Works. He joins Team Lee from the US Army Installation Management Command, Atlantic Region, Public Works Division, Operations and Maintenance Branch.
In DPW, we provide the facilities and facility services that support all Fort Lee’s missions. As a full service Public Works organization, we provide everything from long range planning to facility demolition. Within our six divisions, Master Planning, Operations and Maintenance, Housing, Environmental Management, Engineering, and Business Operations, you will find support for virtually any and all facility issues.
In an effort to improve our services, we are developing ways to better communicate with our customers. Currently, with permissions, you can access interactive information (instruction, training, forms) on the Environmental Management intranet webpage. In the near future, you will be able to input service requests (trouble calls) through a link on this website.

DPW Divisions
Business Operations & Integration (BOI)
The Business Office provides support to all internal Public Works customers in the areas of Information Technology, Administration, Budget, Training, Security, and Process Measurement and Improvement.
Operations & Maintenance (OPS)
Operations and Maintenance Division - supporting the Fort Lee mission through effective use of energy, providing and maintaining sustainable facilities and infrastructure, and emphasizing a culture of safety.
Environmental Management
The Environmental Management Division (EMD) focuses on four major areas: compliance, restoration, prevention, and conservation. The EMD provides the means necessary to meet the mission while protecting the environment utilizing an integrated environmental and training platform. Protection and preservation of the environment will help Fort Lee to remain a major Army asset with the flexibility to meet future mission needs.
Fort Lee EMD provides access to Environmental Management System (EMS) policies, procedures, and related environmental documentation that apply to the operations of the installation. They assist in supporting and communicating EMS initiatives and the Policy 07-05 Mission Integrated/Environmental Management System (MI/EMS) Policy throughout the installation.
EMD satisfies the requirements of the International Standards Organization (ISO) 14001 Environmental Management Standard and Army EMS requirements always assuring that Fort Lee maintains a high state of environmental readiness.
Master Planning
The Master Planning Division provides a Master Plan for the future of Fort Lee and also provides Real Property matters, i.e. space assignments, facilities control and real estate documents. The division establishes the Real Property vision IAW, the Strategic Plan, data on existing conditions, goals and objectives related to the vision, the Future Development Plan as per requirements and the Master Plan as per the five components. The Master Planning Division assists the schools/agencies on Fort lee to obtain new facilities to satisfy their requirements.
Engineering
The Engineering Division is the professional arm of the DPW responsible for design, engineering, construction, renovation, project development and management for the installation. We are tasked with “Creating a Better Fort Lee” in support of our current and future mission requirements. This Division is the professional arm of the DPW composed of (18) engineers, architects, and technicians responsible for the design, engineering, construction, renovation, project development and management for the installation. Staffing will increase to (29) by end of BRAC.
The Engineering Division is divided into two branches: Engineering Services (ES) Branch, which is responsible for project development and project management of both Corps of Engineers and Directorate of Contracting projects along with AE contracts, in house design, and CAD & Reproduction services and Job Order Contracting (JOC) Branch that develops and designs projects for award and construction as task orders on the prime JOC contract, to one general contractor.
Housing
The Fort Lee Family Housing Division consist of three branches, the Housing Services Branch (HSO); Unaccompanied Housing Branch (UPH); and Residential Communities Initiative Branch (RCI) who provide the following support to the Military assigned to Fort Lee.
