SSG Sarah Ugale
Radio NCOIC

SSG Sarah Ugale hails from Salinas California, a valley city in the Central Coast of California. "So I guess that makes me somewhat of a valley girl," she says. Sarah has a beautiful 7 year old daughter, Aliyah. "She is my life," said Sarah.

Sarah first enlisted in the Army in 2000. After her daughter was born she got out, but returned in 2004. She was stationed at Fort Hood Texas for the last 5 years. Sarah was a 92A, automated logistical specialist, and worked as the PLL/Dispatch NCOIC with the 74th Multi Role Bridge Company. She served two deployments with these fine bridge engineers and says, "During the end of our last deployment I decided it was time for a change."

She added that, "As I thought about reenlistment I found out there was an opening to be a broadcast journalist. I was like, ‘yup, that’s for me.’" So it was good bye motor pool and hello broadcasting. "I feel I am so blessed to be right here at AFN Bavaria. This is like my dream job come true," says Sarah.

Sarah feels she owes many people for her good fortune. "I give so much thanks to everyone who supported me and helped me begin to achieve new career goals," Sarah said. "I was part of a great team with the 74th MRBC and now I have found a great team and family here at AFN Bavaria."
