First Sergeant Joseph L. Teagle is the Senior Enlisted Advisor of the Charlotte Military Entrance Processing Station.

First Sergeant Teagle enlisted in the United States Army in September 1987. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Okla., as a Cannon Crewmember. His first assignment was to Giessen, Germany, where he served as a Cannon Crewmember with 4th Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment. He was then assigned to Fort Stewart, Ga., where he served as a Cannon Crewmember with 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment and later with Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3rd Division Artillery. His next assignment was to Fort Bragg, N.C., where he served as an Administrative Supervisor with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 35th Signal Brigade. He was then assigned to Yongsan, South Korea, where he served as a Chief, Mail and Distribution Center, Headquarters 8th Army. He was then assigned to Fort Meyers, Va., where he served as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Plans, Headquarters, United States Army Garrison. In his next assignment he returned to Fort Bragg where he served in multiple capacities, to include: Administrative Supervisor with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Division Support Command, 82nd Airborne Division; Senior Human Resources Sergeant with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Aviation Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division; Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Personnel Actions Branch with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Division Special Troops Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division; and as Senior Human Resources Sergeant with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 20th Combat Engineering Brigade.

First Sergeant Teagle’s professional military education includes the Warrior Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Airborne School, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course and Combat Lifesavers Course.

First Sergeant Teagle’s military awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons. He has also earned the Parachutist Badge and Drivers Badge.
