Gunnery Sergeant
Brad S. Rehrig

Gunnery Sergeant Brad S. Rehrig is a native of Lehighton, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 1999 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina.
 
Upon completion of Recruit Training, Private First Class Rehrig attended the Basic Course of Instruction at the Armed Forces School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia. While there, he was promoted to Lance Corporal.

In June of 2000, Lance Corporal Rehrig was assigned to the Combat Center Band in Twenty-nine Palms, CA. While stationed there he served as percussion instrumentalist, picked up the ranks of Corporal and Sergeant and was assigned to the duty of platoon sergeant, and assistant Drum Major.
 
In April of 2005, Sergeant Rehrig returned to the Armed Forces School of music and attended the Unit Leader Course of Instruction. Upon completion of the Unit Leader course, he then attended the Sound Re-enforcement Course.

In January 2006, Sergeant Rehrig was assigned to the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing Band where he served as the percussion section leader and assistant Drum Major. In June of 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In January of 2007, Gunnery Sergeant Rehrig deployed with the 2d Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion and served as the Tactical Air Command Center Security Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. Upon returning from deployment, Gunnery Sergeant Rehrig was selected for a lateral move from percussion instrumentalist to Drum Major and was assigned as the Band’s Drum Major.

In January of 2008, Staff Sergeant Rehrig was transferred back to the Armed Forces School of Music and was assigned as the Marine Detachment’s Platoon Sergeant, Drill Band instructor, and Drum Major instructor, instructing over 500 basic and advanced course students.

In June of 2011, Staff Sergeant Rehrig was assigned to the Marine Forces Pacific Band where he currently serves as the Band’s Drum Major. He was also selected for promotion to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

Gunnery Sergeant Rehrig’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award), Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal (4th award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
