Emergency Services

Emergency Assistance

The U.S. Embassy and Consulates can assist when U.S. citizens in Brazil are arrested, are missing, are victims of violent crime, become ill, die, or where there is otherwise a need for immediate help. Click on the emergency services below for complete information. U.S. citizens in Brazil are, of course, subject to Brazilian laws and procedures.

Click here for emergency contact information during working hours.

If you require consular assistance during non-working hours, please call the Embassy or Consulate’s after hours’ emergency numbers listed below. The Marine Security Guard on duty will take your call and transfer you to the Embassy or Consulate’s emergency duty officer.
