The tenant unit on Sheppard Air Force Base is the 80th Flying Training Wing. The 80th FTW hosts the world's only internationally manned and managed pilot training program. Celebrating 30 years in 2011, the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program has delivered 6,400 trained combat pilots to our NATO allies. 

The 80th Flying Training Wing operates the Air Force's second-busiest airfield; its 201 aircraft flew more than 55,000 sorties in 2011. The wing delivers over  200 Undergraduate Pilot Training graduates annually, along with 150 graduates of Introduction to Fighter fundamentals and 80 Pilot Instructor Training graduates. 13 NATO countries participate in the unique Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program.
