First Sergeant Lisa K. Rivera is the Senior Enlisted Advisor of the Syracuse Military Entrance Processing Station.

First Sergeant Rivera enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in August 1986, processing through the Oklahoma City Military Entrance Processing Station. After serving four years as an Administrative Specialist in the Army Reserve she transferred to the Regular Army. Her first active-duty assignment was to Fort Jackson, S.C., where she was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 120th Adjutant General Battalion as Personnel Administration Sergeant. Her next assignment was to Fort Rucker, Ala., where she was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade as a Personnel Administration Sergeant. She was then assigned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, where she served with 125th Finance Battalion as a Personnel Administration Sergeant. Her next assignment was to St. Louis, Mo., where she served with the St. Louis Military Entrance Processing Station as Unit Clerk. She was next assigned to Fort Jackson, S.C., where she first served as a Drill Sergeant with Echo Company and later with Alpha Company, 369th Adjutant General Battalion and later as a Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill Sergeant with Charlie Company and Delta Company, 1st Brigade, 34th Infantry Battalion. Her next assignment was to Mons, Belgium, where she served with 650th Military Intelligence Group, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Human Resources. She then deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan, where she served with International Security Assistance Forces as a Detachment Sergeant. She redeployed to Mons where she again served with 650th Military Intelligence Group as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of Operations and later with Alpha Company, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe Battalion, Office of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, as Executive Assistant to the Command Sergeant Major.

First Sergeant Rivera's professional military education includes Basic Combat Training, Initial Advanced Individual Training, Secondary Advanced Individual Training, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Drill Sergeant School, and Basic Instructor Course.

First Sergeant Rivera's military awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, two Joint Service Commendation Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons.
