News Release: Coast Guard medevacs fisherman 2 miles west of Tillamook Bay, Ore.
A Coast Guard boatcrew from Station Tillamook Bay in Garibaldi, Ore., medically evacuated a 64-year-old crew member from a commercial fishing vessel in the Pacific Ocean approximately two nautical miles west of the entrance to Tillamook Bay, Wednesday afternoon.

These are just a few of the things that a pilot has to be wary of when flying an aircraft. A new concern is affecting Coast Guard pilots from Cape Cod, to Hawaii, from Puerto Rico to Seattle. Every air station in the Coast Guard is on the lookout for a simple beam of light.

Tug tows Carnival TriumphThe Coast Guard Cutter Vigorous began escorting the Carnival Triumph cruise ship Monday night after tugs were able to begin towing it toward Mobile, Ala., which is approximately 270 miles north.
