LUSAKA—The United States and Zambia today jointly launched the new television drama series Love Games, an exciting new TV series about love and relationships in a time of HIV. The show’s storyline will raise HIV awareness by exploring the behaviors that put people at risk of HIV.

United States and Zambia Join Forces to Stop Malaria

LUSAKA—In partnership with the Zambian government, the United States-supported Zambia Integrated Systems Strengthening Program began spraying over half a million targeted homes in Eastern, Northern, and Muchinga Provinces to kill mosquitoes that transmit malaria.  If all citizens who are offered this service accept it, over 2.5 million people will benefit from malaria protection.

Smallholder farmers purchasing farming inputs
New U.S. Food Security Project to Boost Agricultural Production

LUSAKA - The United States government launched a new agriculture development and food security project aimed at increasing the productivity and incomes of more than 200,000 smallholder farmers in Eastern Province.  The Production, Finance, and Improved Technology Plus (PROFIT+) project, funded under the auspices of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), will work with smallholder farming households to increase agricultural production by 30 percent.

United States Expands Health Communication Resource Center

LUSAKA—The United States government, the Ministry of Health, and Afya Mzuri, a Zambian non-governmental organization, launched the expanded Dziwani Health Communication Resource Center in Lusaka today.  With support from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Afya Mzuri has expanded the Dziwani Health Communication Resource Center and now offers more resources and services.
