Information for Inbound Personnel:

Military personnel considering or pending assignment to the Buffalo MEPS can find a variety of local information at the following websites. Interservice support agreements exist with Fort Drum, Hanscom Air Force Base, and NSB New London to provide the Buffalo MEPS military members with administrative and quality of life services. USMEPCOM does not exercise any control on the content or operation of the sites listed below. (Note: Links will open a new browser window.):

• Fort Drum — (approx. 220 miles from MEPS) Fort Drum is located in northern New York's North Country. Provides personnel and financial support for military members, family members, DOD civilians and provides Commissary & Exchange Services for all military personnel. On-post housing is available, but not a guarantee. Check with your sponsor. Army personnel services include personnel and processing, promotion, SIDPERS, ID Cards, leave, welcome packet, legal and JAG, transportation, and PCS move. Also offers photography support to all service members.
• Hanscom Air Force Base — (approx. 450 miles from the MEPS) Hanscom's host unit is the 66th Air Base Wing, which is part of ESC. The 66th ABW provides services to all the active-duty, Reserve and National Guard military personnel, DoD civilians and contractors who work and live at Hanscom Air Force Base. Air Force personnel services include personnel and processing, promotion, leave, PCS and move.
• NSB New London — (approx. 450 miles from the MEPS) Provides support for Navy personnel and their families. Navy personnel services, include personnel and processing, promotion, leave, and PCS moves. There is a commissary and Navy Exchange and a Naval Branch Health Clinic as well as MWR services.
• TRICARE — Due to the MEPS distance from military health care facilities, all military members assigned to the Buffalo MEPS are required to enroll in TRICARE Prime Remote (TPR).
• Plan My Move — Plan My Move provides you with access to information about your entitlements and benefits, to points of contact, checklists, planning tools, and information on education and employment. Plan My Move will put you and your family in charge of a smooth relocation to your new duty assignment.
