word document. The documents, if scanned, should be saved in a JPG format.
The documentation should not be attached to an interlink i.e. personal
website. However, in both cases, original applications in quadruplicate,
with photographs should be submitted afterwards as soon as possible.
Applications must quote the post title and the vacancy
number. Only applications containing complete and pertinent information and
documentation will be taken into consideration. Candidates must answer every
question on both forms completely in English. Expressions such as please see
attached CV, Annex, enclosed document, etc are not acceptable.
Applications must also include documentary evidence of
the educational and vocational requirements as listed under essential
qualification in the post’s Job Description. Applicants are further
requested to supply documentary evidence in support of the statements made
in the application (such as certificates of other education/training,
evaluation sheets, job descriptions, letters of appreciation/recommendation,
etc.). Any documentation submitted in a language other than English must be
accompanied by at least an unofficial translation.
Only applications from nationals of a member country of
NATO can be accepted.

Description of Vocational Training
Basic: Vocational training which
may take up to one year if conducted in-service but probably lasting 1-3
months, full time, e.g. training for secretaries, word processing skills.
May lead to a formal qualification.
Intermediate: Training which may take more than one year
on a part time basis but probably lasting 3-6 months on a full time basis.
Usually leads to a formal qualification.
Higher: Vocational training which may take several years
on a part time basis but probably lasting 6-18 months on a full time basis.
This level of training almost always leads to some form of technical or
professional certification, e.g. computer programmer.
Advanced: This vocational training is almost always full
time and leads to a professional qualification. It lasts for one academic
year or more, e.g. accountancy training, interpreter training, teacher
training, some forms of professional engineer training.
Description of Standard Automated Data
Processing (ADP) Knowledge
Basic: Must be familiar with standard usage protocols,
and able to use software with limited assistance.
Working: Must be familiar with standard usage protocols,
and able to use software without supervision for all normal requirements.
Advanced: Must be familiar with standard usage protocols,
and able to execute advanced tasks without supervision or further training.
Language Testing
Non-serving short-listed candidates are subject to formal
tests on essential and/or desirable proficiencies in NATO's official
languages i.e. English and French (only in non mother tongue)
Description of Standard Language Proficiency
Level 1- Elementary
Level 2- Fair (limited working)
Level 3- Good (minimum professional)
Level 4- Very Good (full professional)
Level 5- Excellent (native speaker/bilingual)
