Mission: Provide technical expertise to anticipate, identify, and assess, all environmental health hazards to reducing potential medical threats impacting Soldiers, their families, and DoD civilians.
Health Service Support Areas: Ft. Lee, Ft. AP Hill, Ft. Pickett, Defense Supply Center (DSCR), Richmond, VA, National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) Charlottesville, VA and Radford Arsenal, Radford, Va.

Other sanitation health inspections include: Child Development Centers, family child care facilities, barber and beauty shops, detention cells, sports facilities, all Army Lodging and barracks.
EH Training Support Services:
Food Service Sanitation: ServSafe is a manager level food service safety class for installation food service workers. All food service managers on Fort Lee and within the Health service Support Area are required to have a ServSafe Certification (or the quartermaster’s food safety certification) IAW TB MED 530. Certification is obtained by attending a 3 day course and passing a formal exam. Contact EH to register.
Food Handler’s Course: is short training on basic food safety and sanitation. It is intended for temporary vendors, fundraiser groups and food service employee annual refresher training. Food Handler’s Courses are also provided upon request.
Field Sanitation Team (FST) Certification Course: is a 40 hour course that certifies Soldiers as a unit FST member. IAW FM 4-25.12 each Company sized unit must have at least two Soldiers certified and on orders as the Company’s Field Sanitation Team. FST training is conducted quarterly and requires a DA4187.
