The Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) Initiative-a unique Federal collaboration among the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services, and Justice-is a grant program dedicated to uniting people and organizations that are committed to helping schools and communities prevent youth and school violence and promote healthy child development. The Road to Success will introduce you to the SS/HS Initiative as we tour four grant sites across the country-Jonesboro, AK; Flandreau, SD; Weslaco, TX; and Omaha, NE. While on the road to success, these sites represent a fraction of the success stories that 365 communities have experienced in creating sustainable positive and healthy changes among their children, youth, and families.
