  • School Advisory Committee (SAC) - The SAC (School Advisory Council) is a group of three parents, three teachers, and a high school student who discuss school topics and advise the principal.  The School Liaison Officer (SLO), Base Commander (or representative, often the SLO), and teacher association representative, along with the principal, also attend but do not vote. The SAC is formed to advise the principal on school policies, student activities, administrative procedures, instructional programs, educational resources, allocations of resources, student services, and student standards of conduct and discipline. The SAC may also raise issues about the installation if they affect the school. The SAC does not raise funds or address matters pertaining to personnel, or internal management of school programs. The SAC makes recommendations to the principal, but issues can be elevated to the district or area levels. Installation issues may be elevated to the base commander. SAC members are meant to represent the faculty, parents, or students and anyone with concerns should contact the appropriate SAC member. SAC meetings are open to the public but are not public meetings, which means that community members may observe the SAC, but if they wish to address the SAC they must submit a request in advance of the meeting and their time will be limited.
  • School Improvement Leadership Team (SILT) - The SILT is a committee in the school that exists to execute the School Improvement Plan (SIP). The SIP is a plan developed and adopted by the school to improve its internal services and operations.
  • Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) - The PTO is a volunteer school support group composed primarily of parents. This group is very active in providing valuable support to schools. The PTO was converted from a PTA in 2004 and merged with the Booster Club. The PTO meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Information Center at 1600.
