Advanced Satellite Products Branch (ASPB)
The Advanced Satellite Products Branch (in Madison, Wisconsin)
investigates how to exploit the capabilities of Earth-observing
satellites to improve our nation's weather forecasts. In
particular the branch obtains more accurate information from
satellites about the temperature, moisture and wind at different
levels of the atmosphere, as well as the location of forest fires,
smoke plumes and volcanic ash, all to support aviation weather
and safety activity.
