The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy Dhaka is located at: Madani Avenue Baridhara, Dhaka 1212, Bangladesh. Those attempting to access the Consular Section should come to the Madani Avenue (north) side of the Embassy and enter the Embassy through Gate 2 near Park Road.

Business Hours:

All regular American Citizen Services (ACS) are by appointment only. Please click on Online Appointments to make your ACS appointment online.

American Citizen Services are available during window-hours for document delivery cases (i.e. passports, federal benefits). An appointment is not required for these services. The window hours are from Sunday through Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In case of Emergency:

American Citizen Services Unit does not require appointments for emergencies. Emergencies may include, but are not limited to, loss or theft of passport, denial of freedom to travel, medical or financial emergencies, etc.

If you are a U.S. citizen with an emergency, please call (880) (2) 882-3805 during business hours (Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). 

In the event of an emergency outside of business hours for immediate assistance you may call (880) (2) 885-5500, press “0”, and ask to speak with the duty officer.

No luggage, electronic or photographic equipment is permitted in our waiting room or on other Embassy premises.
