NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction

The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), located in Camp Springs, Md., is "Where America's Climate and Weather Services Begin". Virtually all the meteorological data collected over the globe arrives at NCEP, where environmental scientists analyze this information and generate a wide variety of environmental guidance information. NCEP delivers national and global weather, water, climate and space weather guidance, forecasts, warnings and analyses to a broad range of users and partners users. These products and services respond to user needs to protect life and property, enhance the nation's economy, and support the nation's growing need for environmental information. http://www.ncep.noaa.gov/

NOAA Operational Coastal Modeling Program

The primary objective of the National Operational Coastal Modeling Program (NOCMP) is to develop and operate a national network of Operational Nowcast and Forecast Hydrodynamic Model Systems (called OFS) to support NOAA's mission goals and priorities. An OFS consists of the automated integration of observing system data streams, hydrodynamic model predictions, product dissemination and continuous quality-control monitoring. State-of-the-art numerical hydrodynamic models driven by real-time data and meteorological, oceanographic, and/or river flow rate forecasts will form the core of these end-to-end systems. The OFS will perform nowcast and short-term (0 hr. - 48 hr.) forecast predictions of pertinent parameters (e.g., water levels, currents, salinity, temperature, waves) and disseminate them to users. http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/models.html

NOAA Operational Model Archive and Distribution System

The NOAA National Weather Service NOAA Operational Model Archive and Distribution System (NOMADS) provides distributed, web-service access for real-time and retrospective, format-independent climate and weather model data and related datasets. http://www.ncddc.noaa.gov/ocean-nomads/
