U.S. Embassy-Supported Youth Tennis Program to Hold Mini-Tournament
Over 50 eager young tennis players from three primary schools took their best swing when a mini tournament was held on Thursday at the National Tennis Center at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex. The program started during the final term of the 2011-2012 year and has been funded by the Embassy for the entire 2012-2013 academic year as well.

USS Michael Murphy visits Barbados: Sailors Engage with Local Community

Foreign Service Officer’s Test
U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown will be administering the Foreign Service Officer’s Test (FSOT) on September 29, 2012 from 9:00am to 12:00noon at the Embassy Chancery, Wildey, St. Michael, Barbados. The deadline for candidates to submit completed registration forms, if they intend to test overseas (Bridgetown), is Monday, September 17, 2012.

The United States Embassy continued its commitment to education in Barbados when it presented a set of books to the Barbados Association of Reading to be used for special education teaching. The donation is a direct follow up to a program held earlier this year when the Embassy partnered with the Reading Association to bring American special education expert Dr. Vicky Spencer to Barbados.

29 Peace Corps Volunteers Sworn In
29 Peace Corps Volunteers were sworn in to service in the Eastern Caribbean in April, seven volunteers each in the islands of Grenada, Dominica, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and one on the island of Carricou.

U.S. Consular Officer to hold office hours for U.S. Citizens in Dominica
A consular officer from the U.S. Embassy in Barbados will visit Roseau on March 5 and Portsmouth on March 6 to provide American Citizen Services and to accept applications for U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA). Visa cases will not be discussed.
