Berlin:
The U.S. Embassy in Berlin offers a full range of services for American citizens in the states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia.

Bremen (Consular Agency):
The Bremen Consular Agency provides limited consular services to Americans resident in Bremen, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony.

Please note:  The consular agency will be closed on Monday, February 18 (President’s Day), 2013.

Düsseldorf: The Frankfurt consular section has assumed responsibility for providing American Citizen Services to the Düsseldorf area. If you require assistance in the Düsseldorf service area, please contact the Consulate in Frankfurt.

Frankfurt: 
The Consulate General in Frankfurt provides a full range of services for American Citizens in the states of Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland.

Hamburg:  The Berlin American Citizen Services team will be conducting an ACS Service Day at the Consulate in Hamburg on Monday February 25, 2013.  You must register in order to attend using the registration form

We typically conduct ACS Service Days at the Consulate in Hamburg in February, April/May, and November, so please check back on this site for information closer to those dates.

In the meantime, the Berlin Consular Section is responsible for providing American Citizen Services to the Hamburg area.  If you need assistance, please make an appointment in Berlin.

For U.S. Passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications, please note that only the following visitors will be permitted entry to the Consulate:

  • The applicant
  • Both parents/guardians (and minor siblings) of applicants under the age of 16
  • One parent/guardian (and minor siblings) of applicants between the age of 16-21
  • Escorts required to accompany applicants with special needs


Due to security and space constraints, we are unable to permit other guests into the Consulate.
