By Kevin O’Connell, IMLS Writer-Editor

The Hill Museum & Manuscript Library in Collegeville, Minnesota, was one of ten winners of the 2011 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. In this video interview, Father Columba Stewart, director of the library, discusses the preservation of Ethiopian manuscripts; Dr. Getachew Haile, Cataloguer of Oriental Manuscripts and Curator of the Ethiopian Study Center, talks about his work and the circumstances under which he was forced to leave his native land.

Nominations for the 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service are due October 15, 2012. Anyone, including the staff and board of the museum or library, may submit the nomination.
