ROBOTIC SCIENCE FAIR

Guidelines For SEMS Robotic Fair
Grades: K-12

To create and build a Robot for entry in the May 3rd, 2012, Science Robotic Fair, you are to follow the guidelines below.
____ First find Isaac Asimov’s “Three Laws of Robotics.” 
____ Brainstorm ideas for your robot.
____ Questions you must ask are:   What can my robot do?   Why?
____ Keep a log with clearly written notes for your robot -design, measurements, and process of building your robot.
____ Your robot must stand no taller than 1 meter / (36”), and no wider than 45cm/ (16”) wide.
____ The robot must have one or more movable parts. This part can be manipulated electronically, or manually.
____ You are permitted to use 12 volt dry cell batteries to power your robot.
____ Materials: You can use almost any kind of material to build your robot.  Examples: Cardboard, wire, metal cans, plastic juice containers, old broken toys, beans/seeds, wood

You are not allowed to use or have: GLASS, SHARP EXPOSED EDGES, LIQUID ACID BATTERIES, FIRE, EXPLOSIVES, or CAR BATTERIES AT THE FAIR.
