Branding and Marking Guidance
USAID's framework legislation, the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended, section 641, requires that all programs under the Foreign Assistance Act be identified appropriately overseas as "American Aid."
The main document outlining the Agency's branding and marking requirements is ADS 320 . For more information, please also visit http://www.usaid.gov/branding/.
Requirements for assistance awards are further detailed in the Final Rule titled, "Administration of Assistance Awards to U.S. Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs); Marking Requirements." that was published by the Federal Register on August 26, 2005.
USAID/CAR has prepared a set of templates to guide preparation of branding and marking documents for new projects:
- Templates for assistance awards (grants and cooperative agreements)
- Templates for acquisition awards (contracts and similar instruments)
