Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory inculcates a firmly rooted culture of recruiting and retaining the best and brightest scientists and engineers from all over the United States and beyond. The Laboratory recognizes that such a talented — and diverse — workforce is the best means of achieving its missions as a national laboratory.
To this end, LLNL maintains a large population of postdoctoral researchers, who are actively recruited through cutting-edge projects supported by the Laboratory Directed Research and Development Program, among other pathways. In short, the Laboratory not only counts on its scientists and engineers to engage in advanced projects but also uses such advanced projects as a conduit for bringing new talent into the Laboratory.
The Laboratory also operates several recognition programs to assure that scientists and engineers who deliver important breakthroughs are properly recognized inside LLNL.
