Junior Reference Collection Covering the core curriculum areas, including history, literature, science, social studies, and more, JRC provides a premium selection of reference, primary sources, and multimedia content, including audio and video clips and more than 7,400 photographs. Focused on Middle School curriculum, some information may be useful to OAES students.

Kids InfoBits Kids InfoBits is a database developed especially for beginning researchers in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Featuring a developmentally appropriate, visually graphic interface, the most popular search method is moving from a broad subject to a narrower topic using the subject-based topic tree. This database covers geography, current events, the arts, science, health, people, government, history, sports and more.

 

Internet Public Library for Kids - Find information about just about everything here. Like a public library, the Internet Public Library has reference tools and links you to information. Click on a topic or search for resources.

Cool Math - This site lets students practice mathematics and logical thinking with games that are highly motivational and easy to use.

E.P.A. Kids Center - This Environmental Protection Agency Kids Center offers information and fun activities about the environment.

How Stuff Works - Great site to find out how things work, including how the earth works.

Interactive Simulations - From the University of Colorado, this site includes topics under physics, biology, chemistry, earth science and math. There is also a cross reference by topic and grade level. Elementary and secondary topics are included.

Kidsplanet - Fun site about animals and nature.

NWF Kidzone- National Wildlife Federations' kidzone includes fun magazines for children.

Physics Games - It helps you learn about science and it is fun. (Student recommended)

History for Kids - This is a special web site for kids about world history. Includes Europe, Asia and Africa before 1500 AD.

U.S. 50- Complete guide to the 50 US states.

U.S. Census Bureau Fact finder - Facts about the United States and each state can be found here.

U.S. History Resources - From the Institute of American History, links to primary documants and other resources for U.S. History. Has some very good images from original documents.
