OBJECTIVES/DESCRIPTION OF CLINICAL ROTATION:
The Optometry Clinical Rotation is an outpatient experience in primary care optometry. Students will have the opportunity to see patients in the Womack Optometry Clinic and rotate through the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Center and Ophthalmology clinic. In addition to the broad spectrum of clinical diagnoses normally seen in this service, additional training will occur during the monthly Journal Club discussions and Diabetic Retinopathy Clinic, and the student will assist in the Optometry Technician Training and Assessment program. The extern will be directly supervised by staff optometrists and/or the Optometry Resident.
We currently accept externs from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, Southern College of Optometry and Illinois College of Optometry.
