Fiancé(e) Visa (K)

To establish K-1 visa classification for an intended alien spouse, an American Citizen fiancée/fiancé must file the Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), Form I-129F with the Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) having jurisdiction over the place of the petitioner's residence in the United States. Children under the age of twenty-one are eligible to derive status from the fiancé(e) visa petition filed on behalf of their parent; their name(s) should be included in the petition. If the U.S. citizen is the natural father of the child, the child may have claim to U.S. citizenship and, therefore, may be eligible for a U.S. passport.

Form I-129F cannot be filed at an Embassy, Consulate or U.S. Immigration office abroad. For further information, please visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website.

After DHS approves the petition, the file is forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius. The consular section will sent further instructions and forms to the beneficiary. When the applicant is ready, the Consular Section will schedule an appointment.
