Welcome to Casey Elementary School! We are the Casey Wolves, our school colors are Red and Black and we stand as “One School, One Pack”. Casey Elementary students “Enter to Learn and Leave to Lead”. Our Vision: Casey Elementary School develops leaders by providing a challenging education and preparing successful citizens for a dynamic global community. Casey Elementary School is the first DoDEA School to serve students in Area I of South Korea. Our school is unique in that we are the first DoDEA School to be opened on a military installation that has never had a school in over thirty years. Area 1 has been an unaccompanied tour duty station until the Command Sponsorship Program officially began in 2009. Our school was built in two phases to accommodate the influx of families being stationed at USAG Casey and USAG Red Cloud. Phase One opened in August 2010 and Phase Two was completed just in time to begin the 2011-12 school year. Our campus consists of two classroom buildings and a music building. Casey Elementary School proudly serves approximately 430 students in Sure Start through eighth grade. Elementary students have regular classroom instruction as well as “specials” which consist of art, library, host nation, physical education and music. Our Middle School operates on a six period day. Students in sixth grade have one elective class each day while students in seventh and eighth grade have two elective classes each day. We offer traditional “exploratory wheel” classes to the middle school students to expose them to many area of interest so they can focus on their interests when developing their six year plan toward graduation. In addition to the exploratory wheel classes students also have the opportunity to take art, beginning or advanced band, computer classes, Drama, AVID, Yearbook/Journalism, Spanish I and II and Algebra I. Our faculty is very energetic and enthusiastic and work together to provide outstanding differentiated learning opportunities for all children. We welcome parents and encourage your input to help us make this the “greatest little school in DoDEA”. Sincerely, Shelly Kennedy Principal Casey Elementary School
