Submitting a FOIA Request

FOIA requests must describe a DLA Document Services ONLY existing record to the fullest extent possible.
- The request must state the subject matter of the existing record.
- You must also give the full name, title, mailing address and telephone number of person making the request. Without full identification, your request will be delayed while the FOIA Officer contacts you for additional information.
- Please indicate if you are willing to pay fees. Contact the Freedom of Information Office if you are not sure what information you need to submit. A request determined not to be within the realm of responsibility of DLA Document Services will be referred to another field activity of the Defense Logistics Agency and the submitter will be notified in writing.
Appeals
When a FOIA request is denied in whole or part, you will be advised of your right to appeal the denial within 60 days of notification. The appellate authority for the Defense Logistics Agency is:
